Background

Park Hegeler attended Indiana University, Bloomington, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in History. Mr. Hegeler was a Hudson & Holland Scholar all four years during his undergraduate studies. Park is also a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity and served as the Social Chair during his sophomore year. Park graduated in 2019.

Mr. Hegeler pursued his legal education at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, in New Orleans, Louisiana. After his first year, Mr. Hegeler received the Alumni & Friends of Loyola College of Law Scholarship in Recognition of Outstanding 1L Performance.

During his second year, Park worked as a Teacher’s Assistant for two semesters helping first year students in the legal research and writing course (Lawyering I & II). Park competed as an oralist and brief writer in the Judge John R. Brown Admiralty Moot Court Competition, which was held in Portland, Maine. Park also competed in the Loyola Law Review Write-On Competition and was selected for candidacy on the Law Review. Additionally, the Law Review selected Park’s Casenote for publication in Volume 68 of the Loyola Law Review.

During his third year, Mr. Hegeler worked as a Research Assistant; in this capacity, he helped compile data and edit an article which was accepted for publication in the Georgia Law Review. Park also served as the Substance and Citation Editor on the Loyola Law Review where he was responsible for editing articles for technical and substance accuracy. Park went on to Coach the Admiralty Moot Court Team which competed at Louisiana’s Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal. Mr. Hegeler graduated Magna Cum Laude and was selected as one of ten graduating 3L students for membership in the Order of Barristers, a national honor society limited to graduating law students who demonstrate exception skill in trial advocacy, oral advocacy, and brief writing.

Park is from La Jolla California, and enjoys spending his free time outdoors and, particularly, at the beach or in the ocean.
