Background
Nic Walker attended Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida, where he double majored in International Affairs and Psychology. He earned his Bachelor of Science, magna cum laude, and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi in recognition of his academic achievements. Nic is also a member of the Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity and served as its Community Service Chairman and Historian while at Florida State.
Mr. Walker pursued his legal education at William & Mary Law School, in Williamsburg, Virginia. While in law school, Nic was an active participant in the Public Service Fund, served as Articles Editor on the William & Mary Bill of Rights Journal Editorial Board, and received a merit scholarship. Nic attended William & Mary’s Madrid Summer Abroad program during his 1L summer, interned with the Navy Judge Advocate General’s (JAG) Corps Civil Litigation Division during his 2L summer, and externed with the Navy JAG Corps Region Legal Service Office (RLSO) Mid-Atlantic during his 3L fall semester.
After law school, Nic accepted a commission into the Navy JAGC, where he served for nine years, rising to the rank of Lieutenant Commander (O-4). His assignments included First Tour Judge Advocate at RLSO Southeast in Mayport, Florida; Chief Commissioner at the Navy-Marine Corps Court of Criminal Appeals; Executive Assistant to the Chief Judge, Department of the Navy; Legal Assistance Attorney at RLSO Europe, Africa, Central, Detachment Bahrain; and Prosecutor at Office of Special Trial Counsel, Detachment San Diego. Nic resigned his Active-Duty commission in September 2025, but remains in the Reserve Component of the Navy JAG Corps.
Nic is originally from Virginia Beach, Virginia. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, traveling, writing, and cooking.
